Bae (pronounced beh) literally means pear in Korean. In Korea, the pear typifies grace, nobility, and purity, and the pear tree, comfort. The pear blossom, with its five delicate white petals, is a popular symbol of spring in East Asia. The pear tree is also a symbol of longevity due to the fact that pear trees live very long. Like the proverbial apple, the pear is known as a sweet temptation. Whether you’re looking for a truly memorable gift or a fresh look for your own home, Bae will provide the finishing touch.

In 2005, we teamed up to open Bae. We wanted a store that combined our love of art with everyday objects, and distilled an eclectic blend of modern style with old world charm. We are both Bay Area natives, and seek out local artists whenever possible for the unique flavor they bring. We have spent many hours exploring the wonderful art and design that this city has to offer, as well as traveling farther afield. From us to you. We invite you to stop by and shop.
